    Ad blocking software is not an acceptable solution to the problem of advertising pollution.

    Ad blocking is not 100% reliable, and occasionally lets stuff slip through, especially when a dev is hard coding in his own servers instead of using one of the already identified garbage merchants like Doubleclick.

    In specific cases, apps which do not depend on network functionality can be sanitized through the action of something like DroidWall, however this is not a behavior to be encouraged, as it does us no good when an app has a legitimate need to open sockets.

    So is there a best practice to allow one to develop a Free application without anti-features and still pay rent? Are donate links the only way?
